Feedback from our medical examiners

“I find it very informative and actually fun”

Thank you for your help! I have been doing your course almost daily. I find it very informative and actually fun. The questions are challenging and the answers informative. The way you have laid it out keeps it from being boring or even feeling like you are studying. It feels more like playing a challenging game. Again thanks for all your help

“I love the interactive format”

I have not taken the 10-year RECERT FMCSA exam yet, but I have taken 2 other FMCSA prep courses and signed up for the PASS My Physical Recert Training last week. Just to take this course to be a better FMCSA examiner is worth it! I love the interactive format as it helps to recall and remember the most current information. The other training did not offer this reinforcement. I highly recommend this training as I already feel better prepared for the RECERT test, but more importantly to make better decisions for the drivers that we examine each day. Thank you, Dr.Thorpe!

“Thank you for the outstanding course”

Thank you for the outstanding course, review and testing. It really helped me learn how to retake tests and read through the questions carefully and solidify the knowledge base. Taking the tests is a learning experience due to the outstanding realistic scenarios and CDL driver presentations.

Frequently asked questions

Does this course work for 10-year recertification?

Yes! This course is approved for BOTH first time certifications and the 10-year recertification requirement.

Can I use this course for initial certification?

Yes! This course is approved for BOTH first time certifications and the 10-year recertification requirement.

How does NRCME 10-year recertification work?

  • The 10-year recertification training is essentially the same as first time certification.
  • Begin by completing either LIVE and ONLINE training through Pass My Physical
  • Then log on to your NRCME account and upload your training certificate.
  • Contact an approved testing organization (Prometric or PSI) and schedule your exam.
  • Take and pass the recertification exam before the last day in the year that your current certification expires.

When can I begin the recertification process?

You are eligible once you reach 9 years since your initial certification. The recertification training and testing begins on January 1, 2023 and examiners will have a year to complete the process. Get started early though!

What happens if I fail my recertification exam?

All Medical Examiners currently certified and listed on the National Registry may continue to perform DOT Physicals until their initial certification expires (the last day of the year you were certified, or December 31 of that year). Therefore, you can fail the recertification exam and continue to perform exams until that date. Furthermore, unlike your initial certification testing where you must wait 30 days to retake the exam, medical examiners who are attempting to recertify no longer must wait the 30 days and can register to take the test again even on the next day!

Where do I check my expiration date?

This is available in your National Registry account, in your profile, and under the certification expiration line item.
